A family kitchen that grew into Belagavi's favourite dining room

What started as a small tiffin room near the market has grown into a full-service restaurant and lodge, without changing what mattered most: fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, and a strictly vegetarian kitchen. Every dosa, thali and filter coffee is still made to order.

Keshav Shanbhag
Founder · Est. 1956

Left home at a young age determined to build something of his own, and worked his way through hotels from Mumbai to Belgaum along the way. He finally chose Belgaum to launch his first canteen, near RPD GSS College — the seed that grew into Uday Bhuvan.

Rama Shanbhag
Co-Founder · Est. 1956

Her support was immeasurable — raising all their children while standing beside her husband in building the business, including selling homemade butter, ghee and buttermilk right from their house to help make ends meet in the early years.

Suryakant K Shanbhag
Second Generation

Joined the struggling business at a very early age to support his father, and stood as a firm pillar under his father's management through the tough early years — playing a central role in growing it into what it is today.

Ulhas K Shanbhag
Second Generation

Joined his brother in the business after finishing his education and took charge of the bulk of its responsibilities. He's the one who pushed Uday Bhuvan into a multi-business venture — introducing indoor & outdoor catering and launching several other restaurants along the way.

Chandrakant K Shanbhag
Second Generation

Started out with a job at a bank, but later left it behind to join the family business and support his brothers — bringing his own steady hand to the venture as it kept growing.
